Butwhenthemindsofmenweredebauchedbytheimpositionofpriestcrafttothemostabsurdpitchofcredulity,theauthorsofromance
uppstod
arose,andlosingsightofprobability,filledtheirperformanceswiththemostmonstroushyperboles.Iftheycouldnotequaltheancientpoetsinpointofgeniustheywereresolvedtoexcelthemin
